BRIEFS: Anaconda's Hill MVP of State A tournament By the Missoulian Anaconda junior guard Torry Hill drew the most votes and earned MVP honors as the State A all-tournament team was announced Monday.
Hill averaged 25 points per game while leading the Copperheads to their second consecutive state championship on Saturday at the Butte Civic Center with a 56-41 victory over Southwestern A rival Hamilton.
The 5-foot-7 Hill was joined on the all-tournament first team by Anaconda teammate Lisa Laslovich, Hamilton star Ashley Albert, Glendive standout Carly Selvig and Havre guard Hope Hedges. Laslovich and Selvig are also juniors while Albert, a Montana State signee, and Hedges are seniors.
The all-tourney team was picked by courtside observers and media that covered the tournament.

First team - Torry Hill (MVP), Anaconda 5-7, junior; Lisa Laslovich, Anaconda, 5-7, junior; Ashley Albert, Hamilton, 6-1, senior; Carly Selvig, Glendive, 6-1, junior; and Hope Hedges, Havre, 5-2, senior.
Second team - Kalli Durham, Miles City, 5-8, sophomore; Misha Trotter, Hamilton, 5-2, junior; Annie Schultz, Hamilton, 5-9, junior; Jamie Greany, Belgrade, 5-7, senior; and Blair Milne, Glendive, 6-0, junior.
